How to get there

From M4 J45 take the A4067 up the Swansea Valley to Ystalyfera.  Take the A4068 left to Brynamman. Entering Brynamman, turn right at a mini-roundabout onto the A4069 to Llangadog.  The road winds up over the Black Mountain and 500m past the top, you will see a car park and viewing point.  Park here, cross the road and walk up to the take-off.

Landowner and site fee
Brecon Beacons National Park Authority no fee.

The terrain here is quite open but mainly gentle sloping so scratching around is often the order of the day.  Do not disturb livestock.

Potential Hazards
Slope landing can be tricky on the rocky and uneven slope.
Military aircraft frequent the area during the week.  Use the freephone service!

Take-off and landing
Take-off is a small flat area  near the top of the slope 200m to the west of the carpark.
The bottom landing area  is  situated beyond the hairpin bend in the road below take-off.  Hangliders may top land  on the flat area behind take-off next to the main road.
